Buch completed a renovation of the Bloomingdale’s in McLean, VA. This was a 4-phase project, splitting the departments into different stages of the project. Phase 1 consisted of the remodeling of the women’s shoe department, phase 2 the cosmetics department, phase 3 the women’s fragrance department, and phase 4 the handbags and jewelry departments. During the renovation, the store was partly operational, with work being scheduled from 5am to 11am.
This project involved a lot of millwork, custom wall covering and the removal and reinstallation of displays for all departments. The scope of work also included installation of ceilings, floors, electrical work and lighting fixtures. The space was finished with modern touches throughout, and new furniture was added. Additionally, there were four new spa rooms built within the store.
