Qiagen R&D Lab Expansion

Frederick, MD

Buch completed Phase 1 of the Qiagen project which consisted of an interior fit-out converting 18,000 SF of cold dark shell space into a research and development laboratory and office space. To accomplish this task, Buch worked in unison with the base building shell being erected to install underground utilities prior to the concrete being poured. The build was comprised of a new HVAC system including rooftop units, split systems, centrifugal fans, a new electrical system with emergency generator and UPS back up power, and a cold room. Included in the finishes was new casework, ceiling mounted cord reels to provide power, recessed walk-off mats, sheet vinyl flooring and high finish huddle and conference rooms.
