Steamfitters Local #602

Buch worked with the Steamfitters Local #602 to renovate their existing UA Mechanical Trades School campus in Lanham, MD. The 60,000+ SF design-build project consisted of major renovations to 3 existing buildings on their campus as well as a new pre-engineered metal storage building.

The 31,000 SF Building A was demolished back to the existing steel structure and rebuilt to a modern aesthetic. Building B was a 21,000 SF renovation that included a new façade, new windows, a new roof, and interior renovations to bathrooms, offices, and classrooms. Building C was a renovation of an existing pre-engineered metal building that houses their welding and brazing shops, which included new wall panels, new roof panels, and new overhead doors.

In addition, Buch constructed a new pre-engineered metal storage building. The scope also included a new parking lot to accommodate the increasing number of students. The project was completed in an extremely tight timeframe.
