Toys”R”Us in Macy’s Herald Square
New York, NY
Macy’s and Toys”R”Us partnered to install Toys”R”Us branded toy shops in Macy’s stores across the nation. Buch was selected to be part of this exciting initiative by building out the largest shop at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City. The scope included the demolition and relocation of the H.R. Administrative offices to the 8th floor to accommodate the Toys”R”Us fit-out on the 7th floor where a full-size kids’ playground was also installed. Unforeseen existing conditions were discovered after demolition that added 800+ manhours of additional scope. Buch worked 3-shifts over the course of 3 weeks, including weekends, and was able to successfully deliver the project in time for Mad Money to record in the store with Jim Cramer and Macy’s Chairman and CEO, Jeff Genette.
“I have spent years working on projects and traveling all over parts of this region and along those projects I have had the opportunity to meet and work alongside project managers, general contractors, and site superintendents. Overall, without a doubt, the Buch team, top to bottom was the most enjoyable to work with.”
